The February Katoomba Library Unplugged ... Boardgames event is happening this Saturday, 2nd Feb 2019 from 11am to 3pm. Come along, bring games, play some of the great range of games that the Library now offers or play one of the games that we will bring along. Remember that this is also an opportunity to pickup games that you order from our website - just select Pick Up from Game Event (1st Sat of month) as you shipping option.

This month we will feature a few of the games we played at CanCon last weekend: The Quacks of Quedlinburg (which won the KennerSpiel des Jahres in Germany last year).

This is a fairly easy game to pick up and a lot of fun to play with a very clever push your luck bag building mechanic as the central focus of the game.

... and Newton

which is a quite complex Euro with a lot of different things going on.

I will also try to make a print-and-play version of a prototype that I played: Too Many Cooks.

This is a clever card game that is about creating a soup with everyone having particular preferences for what should be added to the soup. It is a cooperative deduction game where the only communication is through a web app on your phone with which you let the other players know whether the current state of the soup satisfies your requirements.
